Player size and EBF varies with position

People ask all sorts of questions about the size of rugby players.

They`re not easy questions to answer.

This is our solution!

Have fun and learn from looking at the height and weight of players.

We present on this site player details that were obtained from the squad pages of the sites of the best rugby clubs.

You will see height, weight and build of players in each team and in each position, with summaries giving highest, lowest and averages.

EvtecHs Build Factor (EBF) is a measure of how "stocky", how well built (beefy) a player is. It combines height and weight together.

EBF is derived from the height and weight of any given player and gives an idea of what type of build is required for the various positions.

Work out your own EBF.

Divide your weight(kg) by your height(cm), then multiply by 1000.

You can do it with the special calculator below.

Calculate your EBF

Use this special calculator and calculate your EBF.

For pounds and inches use the second calculator. Your numbers will be automatically converted to cm/kg before it calculates your EBF.

Just click in weight, type in your number, tab and put in height.

Then click the calculate button (or tab to it and press "Enter").

Now see how your build compares with the elite players.

EBF is also a measure of how you are likely to use EvtecHs evasion.

EvtecHs is useful to any player with an EBF between 0 and 1000.If you are in the range 300 to 800 you will find it`s fantastic.

My guess is, that shows EvtecHs is great for everyone! :)

This is not deadly serious. If you don`t like your EBF, forget it!

EBF is just a tool to help compare the physique (physical characteristics) of different rugby positions.

You will get more idea about the sizes of positions relative to each other. The heavier, the lighter, taller, shorter and all combinations.

Look out for the unusual ones, too. The centre built like a prop is one I remember!

There is also the biggest scrumhalf who is a bigger build than a good few props, but he is the only one who qualifies.
