And here`s a bit of magic
If you wear the right shorts nobody can tackle you.
Of course if you polish your golden sidestep noboby can tackle you anyway!
That`s me I`m an oldie.
Not yet one of the real rugby golden oldies because I don`t play at the moment.
But the red shorts, mmmm, they really appeal because nobody can tackle me.
Just like the old days. Past one man, past two!
Someone did get hold of me, once.
But I don`t remember all that much, not after the fractured skull - not kidding about that one!
It will be in Sydney in 2010.Here`s what I think. Maybe I`ll see you there. Imagine it will be fantastic. Meanwhile polish those sidesteps or maybe get some ideas. You could start at rugby sidesteps on this site.
Update - It`s now after the the event and I didn`t make it. I emailed a couple of people said to be looking after Golden Oldie affairs in Sydney but after waiting a long time I never received a reply.
In the meantime I injured myself (see disclaimer) and decided against making a comeback!.
What I discovered as a result is simply playing about with a rugby ball again is great fun and gives plenty of exercise to muscles I had almost forgotten I had!.
Maybe you are new to rugby, you want to get into it but need to know more.
Looking at the rugby field is a useful place to start.
